About Us
Rob Turgeon; Videographer and President of Apple Hill Video Inc.
Rob
lived in Montreal until he was 27 years old. It was there that he dabbled in
communication electronics, and developed a taste for the theatre. In 1978 he
moved to the Kingston Peninsula in New Brunswick where he became active in the
community. He was active in the Scouting Movement, the Church, and the local
Middle School. He is a recently retired school teacher (sheltered class, French,
and French Immersion), who has been involved in drama production and direction
for the last thirty years.
He has been involved in video production with Apple Hill Video Inc., a company that he incorporated in 1985. Its humble beginning was the filming and editing of ballet recitals, dance shows, and dramatic productions. Its services have increased to what you see on this website today.
In 2004 Rob became a member of the N.B. Filmmaker’s Co-op and attended many of the workshops it offers. As a result, he is turning his hand to socio-cultural documentaries. His first, entitled “Joel…One Of 474”, was funded by the NFB. It was well received at the Tidal Wave Film Festival in 2004, in local schools and universities. He is currently working on another NFB funded documentary entitled “Reed’s Point” dealing with a social issue on the Kingston Peninsula.
In addition to continuing to serve the needs of his many clients, he looks forward to making many more documentaries promoting the socio-cultural awareness that are requested of him.
